Detailed Itinerary (7 Days)

Day 1: Manali to Khanjar (11,564 ft) — 135 km Drive

Drive through the Atal Tunnel into Lahaul Valley. Pass Udaipur and follow the Miyar River to reach Khanjar, the last motorable village. Overnight stay in camps or homestays.

Day 2: Acclimatisation at Khanjar

Explore the village, interact with locals, and take short hikes. Proper acclimatisation helps prevent altitude sickness.

Day 3: Khanjar to Yolling (12,345 ft) — 12 km

Begin your trek through fields, chortens, and alpine meadows. Easy gradient with scenic landscapes. Camp at Yolling.

Day 4: Yolling to Zardong (12,667 ft) — 12 km

Walk through wider valleys and rocky sections. Witness dramatic mountain formations. Zardong offers one of the most beautiful campsites.

Day 5: Zardong to Palpu (13,202 ft) — 4 km

Short but challenging day with multiple river crossings. Trek through glacial plains. Camp at Palpu.

Day 6: Palpu to Gompa via Glacier Lake — 14 km

Trek to a stunning emerald glacial lake near the Miyar Glacier. Descend to the Gompa campsite.

Day 7: Gompa to Khanjar & Drive to Manali

Return via Yolling and drive back to Manali. Trek concludes.
